What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions related to the nerves, joints, and muscles. The target of chiropractic treatment is to align the back, neck, pelvis, and joints to allow the nervous system to function unimpeded. Misalignments (called “subluxations”) of the spine and joints can prevent the nervous system from communicating effectively with the rest of the body, resulting in pain, discomfort, and disorders.

The primary form of treatment that chiropractors deliver is called an adjustment. Adjustments are a manual therapy in which your chiropractor will direct precise movement to adjust the position of your joints in order to relieve pain or discomfort.

Chiropractors do not prescribe drugs, but often seek to counsel patients in nutrition, lifestyle, and exercise.

What is Theralase?

Theralase is a cold laser treatment that triggers the body it heal itself. It penetrates tissue and stimulates your body’s cells to produce additional ATP, which is what deals with cell repair and regeneration. It can accelerate healing, minimize or eradicate pain, and decreases inflammation. Check out this video for a visual explanation!

What is acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body, called acupuncture points, which stimulate the body’s natural healing mechanism. Acupuncture can involve several methods of stimulation, including the application of heat or pressure.

Acupuncture is a key component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which is a broader range of medical practices based on a tradition over 2 500 years old. TCM includes herbal medicine, massage, exercise, and dietary therapy.

What is Bowen therapy?

Bowen therapy is a manual therapy that is based on the principle that our bodies have a continuous self-healing and self-correcting process that can be stimulated to return us to a healthy state.

The Bowen technique consists of a series of precisely placed motions of the thumbs or fingers over tendons, muscles, or nerves. The stimulus targets structural balance, muscle tone, blood flow, and tissue drainage, all of which are parts of the recuperative system. Bowen helps the body remember how to heal faster.

What is Thai massage?

Thai massage involves a combination of massage and manipulation. It was developed in Thailand, heavily influenced by the traditional medicine systems of India and China, as well as by yoga.

Unlike deep-tissue or relaxation massage, recipients of Thai massage wear loose, comfortable clothing while their therapist positions the body in various yoga-like positions. Deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the massage, and involves deep pressure and assisted stretching.

Unlike therapeutic or relaxation massage, which can leave you somewhat drowsy, Thai massage relaxes and invigorates your body.
